ABOUT DEPARTMENT  & ESTABLISHMENT :- Before declaration of full fledged District. The East Kameng district  was a part of Kameng district and with sub-divisional  HQ was at Sapla renamed as Seppa. The Economics  & Statistics Department was established on 1st April/1973  under control of Additional Deputy Commissioner Sepla (Seppa) subdivision with 1(one) Inspector of Statistics, 2(two) Primary Investigators, 2(two) Peons and 1(one) L.D.C.

                               As per re-organisation District Act-1980 the Seppa subdivision has been declared as East Kameng District on 1st June/1980 with Head Quarter at Seppa. Accordingly, The  Economics and Statistics Department has been upgraded as per District Status.

  1. ON GOING ACTIVITIES & DEVELOPMENTAL WORK :-  The Economics and Statistics Department collecting all developmental  and information carried  out by all HoD of the District and information has been compiled at district level and prepare  District level report and submitted to Government in time to time.
  2. Socio-Economic Survey conducted by N.S.S.O. Government of India New Delhi in every year.
  3. Collection & Compilation of various Publication

                In addition to above the Department is Registering all Vital    events of the District, Issuing Births & Deaths Certificates/State domestic Product (S.D.P.)  information/ Data collected from various HoDs and send to the Government of Arunachal Pradesh and collection of Rainfall Statistics, metrological report and price Statistics by the Department.

4. DATA RELATED TO PROJECT/ACTIVITIES AT THE DEPARTMENT  :-

  1. The Economics & Statistics Department Seppa has been conducted 1st  and 2nd  phase Census with co-operation  of all HoD  and completed  successfully.
  2. In addition to this Census the work is going to be conduct AADHAAR for ensuing unique identity card for every citizens
